As a parental control app for children, Cylux is built to the highest privacy standards. Here's exactly what data is collected and how it's protected.

Why Privacy Matters in a Parental Control App

Parental control apps by definition collect sensitive data — location, activity, communications. That's exactly why privacy standards matter more for this category than almost any other. Cylux is built from the ground up to collect only what's necessary and protect it rigorously.

COPPA Compliance

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) prohibits collecting personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Cylux complies with COPPA by:

  • Requiring parental account creation before any child data is collected
  • Parents have full visibility and control over all data collected from their child's devices
  • Children's data is never sold to advertisers or third parties
  • Parents can request complete data deletion at any time
  • Data minimization: Cylux collects only what's required for the parental control features to function

GDPR Compliance

For EU families, Cylux complies with the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Explicit consent obtained before data collection begins
  • Right to access, correct, and delete personal data
  • Data stored in encrypted form on secure servers
  • Data transfer protections for international families
  • Privacy by design — privacy protections built into product architecture, not added as an afterthought
