Built out of frustration by parents who needed better
In 2024, our co-founders Alex and Priya were comparing parental control apps on the market. Every single one had the same problems: kids could uninstall them, open a private browser, or use a different device entirely.
As an Android platform engineer and a Google engineer, they knew exactly why those apps failed — they lived in the application layer, where any determined kid could bypass them in minutes.
So they built something different. Cylux operates at the Android MDM layer — the same technology enterprises use to secure employee devices. It can't be uninstalled, bypassed, or disabled without the parent's permission.
