Delete Your Account & Data

You can permanently delete your Cylux account and all associated data at any time — directly inside the app, from the web dashboard, or by emailing us. This page describes each method, exactly what is removed, what we must retain for legal reasons, and how long it takes.
1. Overview
This page explains how to permanently delete your Cylux account and the personal data associated with it. Deleting your account is a one-way action: it cancels your subscription, unenrolls and removes every paired child device, and erases your profiles, activity history, and settings. It cannot be undone.
Only the parent/guardian account holder can delete the account. Children do not have Cylux accounts and cannot initiate deletion.
2. Delete from the Cylux Parent app
1. Open the Cylux Parent app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Scroll to the "Danger Zone" and tap "Delete Account".
4. Confirm by typing DELETE when prompted.
5. Your subscription is cancelled immediately, all devices are removed, and your account is deleted.
3. Delete from the web dashboard
1. Sign in at https://cylux.co.
2. Open Settings.
3. In the "Danger Zone" section, click "Delete Account".
4. Confirm by typing DELETE in the dialog.
5. The account, subscription, and all paired devices are removed.
4. Request deletion by email
If you cannot access your account, you can request deletion by emailing privacy@cylux.co from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line "Delete my account".
We will verify your identity and complete the deletion. If we cannot verify the request from the account email, we may ask for additional information to confirm ownership before proceeding.
5. What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
• Your parent profile (name, email, hashed password, preferences)
• Every child profile you created
• All monitoring data: app usage and screen-time history, web-activity (domain) logs, content/notification history, location history, device status, and alerts
• Device enrollment records and push-notification tokens
• Reward, schedule, limit, and policy configurations
Your active subscription is cancelled at the moment of deletion. Card details are held by our payment processor (Stripe), not by Cylux, and are removed in line with Stripe's policies.
6. What we may retain (and for how long)
For legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution reasons, a limited set of records may be retained after account deletion:
• Billing and transaction records — up to 7 years, as required by tax and financial-reporting laws.
• Records strictly necessary to comply with a legal obligation or to resolve a dispute — only for as long as required.
These records are isolated from the live service, access-restricted, and are not used for any other purpose.
7. How long deletion takes
• Your account and access are deactivated immediately.
• Child profiles and monitoring data are permanently erased from production systems within 72 hours.
• Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within 30 days as backups rotate.
If you need confirmation once deletion is complete, email privacy@cylux.co and we will confirm in writing.
