Disney+ on Smart TV: Built-in Controls

Disney+ includes basic parental controls through its profile system. Here's how to configure them for your child:

Step 1: Set Up a Kids Profile

1. Open Disney+ → tap your profile icon → Edit Profiles.
2. Create a new profile for your child, or edit an existing one.
3. Enable Kids Profile — this restricts content to G and TV-G rated titles and displays a simplified, child-friendly interface.

Step 2: Set Content Rating Limits (Non-Kids Profile)

For older children who don't want the Kids interface but still need content limits:

1. Go to Account → Parental Controls.
2. Set your child's profile to a maximum content rating (G, PG, PG-13).
3. Set a 4-digit profile PIN to prevent your child from changing these settings.

Step 3: Lock Profile Switching

Without a profile lock, children can switch to your adult profile and access Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic content unrestricted. Enable Profile PIN Lock so switching profiles requires your PIN.

What Disney+ Controls Can't Do

Disney Plus parental controls Smart TV out of the box cannot:

• Set a daily time limit that automatically locks the app after X hours
• Block Disney+ during homework or bedtime without manually closing the app
• Show you what your child watched and for how long in a parent-facing report
• Lock the TV remotely from your phone
